Rural to Online

We live in the age of information. We have grown so habitual to information at the speed of light that if for some reason not having access to countless facts and figures with the mere clicks makes us discomforting. For this reason, many people across the nation and around the world are welcoming the idea of online learning.
As our country takes on to online education, rural students suffer more than those who live in cities. Conducting online classes in rural areas is a big challenge,
students in rural India are denied the luxury of basic requirements used in distance learning, a lower percentage of students in villages possess desktop or laptop computers.
People in rural areas have to also deal with intermittent power supply and older electronic devices, which are often a hindrance to seamless access.  They depend on their family members’ mobile phones for learning and attending classes because access to devices is not easy, many parents not being educated.
Furthermore, purchasing data plans for learning could also incur a lot of expenses for families who face financial constraints. Many teachers and students in rural areas are not able to match up to the technical skills of educationalists and students in cities. The rural to urban population percentage is 72.18% to 27.28%. An estimate can be made using these stats that the students in rural areas are way behind than those who live in urban areas which can cause a huge educational gap between the two. A solution to this problem must be found keeping in mind the above facts, else it can be a reason for economic slow down in some years to come and even has the power to derail the national harmony.
